Obituary

William Franklin Draper, age 84, passed away on October 7, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, valuable lessons, and a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to his family.

William was a hardworking and dedicated man who believed in the importance of providing for his family and lending a helping hand to those in need. Throughout his life, he proudly retired twice, first from Kimberly-Clark and later from his career as a truck driver for the United States Postal Service. His strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to doing things the right way were qualities that defined the man he was.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, William found great joy in giving back to his community. He had a generous heart and was always willing to offer his time, assistance, or a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He believed that even the simplest acts of kindness could make a lasting difference in someone's life, and he lived by that example.

One of William's greatest blessings was the love he shared with his devoted wife of 67 years, Sherry Lynn Adams Draper. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to lifelong love, commitment, and companionship. Together, they built a life filled with memories, unwavering devotion, and a love that stood the test of time.

William was also a wonderful and devoted father to his only child, William H. Draper. More than just a father, he was a teacher, a role model, and a true inspiration to his son. Through his words, actions, and the example he set each day, William passed along countless valuable life lessons that will never be forgotten. His wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love will remain a treasured part of his son's life and a lasting reflection of the remarkable father he was.

William was preceded in death by his beloved father and mother.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sherry Draper; his son, William H. Draper (Winford); and all those whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.

Although his earthly journey has come to an end, the love William gave, the lessons he taught, and the kindness he extended to others will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him most. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the difference he made in the lives of others.
