Obituary

Walter "Gene" Herring passed away peacefully Thursday February 9, 2023.  He was born October 24, 1942 to Willie G and Lucille Herring of Bolton TN.

He served his country and family proud in the Army for 24 years before retiring as a Sergeant Major.    After returning home he began working at  the post office where he made life long friends that became more like family to him even after retirement.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother, sister, and his loving wife Patricia Herring.  He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He will always be remembered for his kindness and big heart.  He truly enjoyed having friends and family over fishing in his pond, buying lawn mowers, and drinking Diet Coke.  To know him was to love him…. He will always be loved and missed by all.
