Vernon Earl ("Buddy") Wise, of Hernando, passed away last Thursday evening, March 4, 2021. Buddy, as he was known and called by his family and many friends, was born December 16, 1939, in Memphis. His parents, who both preceded him in death, were Robert John Wise and Frances Marie McNeer Wise. He attended and graduated from Southside High School in Memphis; attended Southwestern, now Rhodes, College in Memphis and Ole Miss in Oxford; he graduated from Memphis State University with a business degree and was a CPA.

He leaves two sons: Jeffrey Earl Wise, recently of Memphis and now Hernando; and Timothy Allan Wise, and wife Rachel, of Jackson, Mississippi. He leaves a sister, Carolyn Irene Wise Faust of Hernando. Buddy leaves six (6) grandchildren: Dr. Meredith Kathrin Wise, of Minneapolis, MN; Olivia Frances Wise Thompson, and husband Taylor, of Fort Worth, TX; and Parker Hamilton Wise, of Austin, TX; Timothy Luke Wise and Allison Marie Wise, of Jackson, MS; Anna Kathleen Wise of Nashville, TN. He also leaves a niece, Kimberly Faust Robinson, of Hernando, and numerous cousins, colleagues and friends, both here and yon. Many may remember Buddy from his accounting and tax work, and as well recall his love of sports. As he leaves this life and world and matters behind, he enters the eternal love and care of our Lord Jesus Christ. His earthly work and toil now done, eternal peace, joy and happiness he now has gained.
