Verna M. Arnold, 96, of Eads, TN, was peacefully called home by the Lord on December 4, 2017. She was born in Hughes, Arkansas on August 15, 1921. She was preceded in death by her parents Katie Burlison and John E. Lofton, her husband Chester Earle Arnold, two sons, J.F. White and E.L. White, five brothers, Woodrow, Delaney, Billy, George and Harold, one sister, Shirley and one great-granddaughter, McKenzie Beck. She leaves her daughter-in-law, Joann White (Mrs. E.L. White) of Florida and a very close niece, Mary Lou Pickering and her husband, Jerry Pickering of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She leaves seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law Donna Beck and Paul J. Melancon in Eads, Tennessee for the past eight years. She was retired from Civil Service as a telephone operator at the Millington Air Station. She was a member ofPleasants Christian Church in Rossville, Tennessee, Christian Women's Fellowship, and Kings Daughter's and Son's Home. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the wonderful staff at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett and the caregivers of Crossroads Hospice. In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorials be made to Pleasants Christian Church in Rossville, Tennessee, King's Daughter's and Son's Home or The Salvation Army. Visitation will be at Kingsway Christian Church in Schaffer Memorial Chapel, 7887 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will be at Pleasants Christian Church, 6405 Highway 194, Rossville, Tennessee, Saturday December 9, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.
