Obituary

Teddy ("Ted") Wayne Parker, of Memphis, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 11th, following surgery, at the young age of 57.
Ted was born to parents Lottie and Theodore Parker on September 15, 1959 in Amarillo, TX.Ted was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul Anthony Parker and Archie Eugene Brock Sr.
Ted's veins ran diesel fuel, seeing the United States from the windshield of his semi-truck throughout his life. Ted never met a stranger, meeting new people everywhere he went. Everyone that met him, loved him.
More than a truck driver, however, Ted was affectionately "Pops" to not only his son, Brandon Parker, but to numerous young people that love and adore him as their own father, as well as "Unk. Ted" to some of his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his son Brandon, Ted leaves his wife of 27 years, Betty Parker.
A special thanks to Dr. Shawn Hayden for his one of a kind compassionate care for Ted. You were caring, kind, considerate. Someone who truly valued Ted, adding to his life in immeasurable ways.
Greatly missed by his dogs, Diamond, Togi, Tank and Dexter, their love for Ted is FUR-ever!
With his outgoing personality, Ted is described as "One of the kindest souls", "Great person", Good friend", "Always made me laugh", Couldn't help but love him", "Wonderful, powerful personality", " Big personality ", " Teddy Bear". All very fitting of him.
Ted loved having fun with people, including his boss. He was in competition with her every Wednesday to send her a "Happy Hump Day" text before she sent one, although she had her alarm set for midnight to send one to him. His phone was faster, she says, so he usually won.
Ted leaves an imprint of great memories for his family, co-workers and life-long friends that love him dearly.
On the Highway to Heaven, Ted is leaving a place that cannot be filled in the hearts and souls of everyone that knows and loves him. Gone but never forgotten.
