Obituary

Steven Mark Killion passed on March 8, 2020 in Memphis, Tennessee surrounded by family. He was born in Mendota, Illinois, December 2, 1950 and grew up in Plainville and Bloomington, Indiana. Steve was a graduate of Bloomington High School and attended North Wood Institute where he received his associates degree. He is survived by his daughter Lauren Killion of Atlanta, Georgia (recently relocated to Memphis, TN) and his siblings Ken Killion of Seattle Washington, and Dan Killion and Beth Lawyer both of Bloomington, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife Susie Killion of Atlanta, Georgia, parents Ralph and Clara Killion, of Bloomington, Indiana, siblings Sonya Gallaway of Sturgeon, Missouri, Vonda Edwards of Columbia, Missouri, and Ron Killion of Bloomington, Indiana. Steve moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the 1970s and began Atlanta Home Services, which included home repair, renovations and additions. He was most proud of his work re-vitalizing Grant Park, being there for his life long customers, and helping single parents where no project was ever too small. Steve was a loving caregiver for his wife during her years of cancer, and for his mother-in-law who lived with them for over ten years. Steve moved to Hazelhurst, Georgia in 2007 but recently moved to Memphis to be with his daughter Lauren and to explore a new city. He believed that love is an action, and he showed that throughout his life.

In honor of Steve Killion and his love for sharing food with others, the family has set up a GoFundMe to support the local food bank in Hazelhurst, Ga; a city he lived in for many years and saw directly the impact of this food bank on the community. gofundme.com/stevekillionthecook
