Richard Thomas Sturtevant, formerly of Memphis, TN, passed away at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS on Fathers Day, June 21, 2020, and went to be with his Heavenly Father. Dad was born February 10, 1928 in Lowell, MA, the son of Walter and Mildred Sturtevant and had two siblings, Eileen and Walter, both of whom predeceased him. He married Mom, Marion Florence Frick on July 8, 1951 in Essex, MA. Together they had four children and spent 29 years together until Mom passed away in 1980. Dad is survived by his current wife of 27 years, Elsie Ann Sturtevant, of Ridgeland, MS, and all four of his children: Donna Harkness (Furniss) of Memphis, TN; Gary Sturtevant (Sherrie) of Springfield, MO; Sandra Croom (Scott) of Gilmer, TX; and Scott Sturtevant (Karen), of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Marian Adams, Melissa Corbid, Jonathan Walker, Dalton Walker, Megan Kennemer, Madeline Fluty, Sophie Grace Sturtevant, and Parker Sturtevant, and one great-grandchild: Kase Ray Kennemer. Dad was a conscientious, hard-working, faithful Christian father who was much loved and will be sorely missed. He will be remembered and his life celebrated at a family graveside service at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to the Alzheimers Association.
