Rachel Jones Edwards, 92, of Southaven, MS entered her eternal life on June 6, 2022. She was born January 20, 1930, to Johnnie Dallas Jones and Georgie Elizabeth McLemore Jones in Madison County, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David William Edwards; her parents; two brothers, Johnnie Ray Jones and Lyndell Adkins Jones; two sisters, Mary Margaret Jones Cash and Helen Lucille Jones Plunk.

Rachel leaves behind two sons and a daughter-in-law; David L. Edwards, and Daniel W. Edwards (Karon) all of Southaven, MS. Two grandchildren, Tyler W. Edwards (Kourtney) of Rustin, LA, Taylor B. Edwards Murphy (Dillon) of Eupora, MS and one great granddaughter, Emery Rose Murphy. Along with many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Rachel was a member of Getwell Church in Southaven, MS. She loved the Lord and would spend time in the mornings with Him in devotion.

Rachel started her work career with The Dixie Greyhound Bus Co. of Memphis, TN. She moved into insurance with The Home Insurance Company, but most of her career was with The Craddock Insurance Company in Memphis, TN, which later became Collier Insurance Company.

Rachel enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially loved her grandchildren. She liked playing card games, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, ceramics and cooking pies.

The grief her family feels can only be surpassed by the joy as she was greeted by our Savior.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Endowment Fund at Getwell Church or The American Lung Association.

Celebration of life will be Monday, June 13, 2022, at 10am, with service to follow at 11am at Getwell Church (7875 Getwell Rd., Southaven, MS 38672).

Interment will be at Forrest Hill South (2545 E. Holmes Road, Memphis, TN 38116).
