Obituary

On Sunday, November 29, 2020, Priscilla Dee Mullins Tims, a treasured wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away suddenly of heart failure at the age of 79.

Priscilla was born in Newport, Arkansas on February 3, 1941 to B.A. Mullins and Douglas (Crenshaw) Mullins. She was the second of three children and sister to Shirley and Buddy.

From an early age, Priscilla was a fierce, passionate follower of Jesus. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Charles, for 61 years, and the two of them launched into a lifelong journey of glorifying God through service unto others. Together they raised four children, Randy, Tracy, Doug, and Davey.

When the children were old enough to start school, Priscilla returned to her personal mission field as a teacher in the Memphis City Schools. Years later, she and Charles took early retirement to pursue a life of full-time ministry to any and all that Papa God directed their attention to. They were always leaders in the local church, but the hallmark of their ministry has been helping others experience life and freedom in Jesus.

Priscilla is survived by her husband, Charles Henry Tims, sister, Shirley Hancock, brother, Buddy Mullins, son, Randy Tims, daughter, Tracy Tims Word (Tom), and son, Doug Tims (Mary). Priscilla was affectionately known as "Gramsie" by her 17 "grands": Andrew Tims (Melissa), Sarah Tims, Samuel Tims (Ellis), Benjamin Tims, Gates Word, Hannah Beal (Kaleb), Mary Locke (Bryson), Rebecca Tims, Jenny Tims, Freddy Tims (Paola), Matthew Tims, Grayson Word, Luke Tims, Parker Word, Jake Tims, Lauren Tims, and Josh Tims. Gramsie loved her grands uniquely and deeply, exhorting each to pursue their fullest potential.

Priscilla is preceded in death by parents, B.A. Mullins, Douglas (Crenshaw) Mullins, and son, Davis Mullins Tims (May 1, 2020).

James 1:17 says, "Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Lights, who does not change […]" Gramsie embodied this idea by painstakingly choosing gifts for each of us and anyone she came in contact with that needed an encouraging touch from Papa God.

The list of those touched by her love and devotion would number in the thousands, and if she were alive today, she would pray these words over each of you:

"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe."  Ephesians 1:18-19
