Patricia "Trish" Marie Gurney
March 2, 1944 - September 25, 2017
Patricia (Trish) Marie Gurney, 73, a resident of Memphis, TN, passed away at 3:53pm on
September 25, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Germantown. Trish was a retired employee of
the Kroger Company and more recently, a Wings volunteer at the West Cancer Center.
For over 27 years, she served as a Third Order Carmelite of the St. Anne Lay Carmelite
Community of the Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary. An active parishioner of
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (serving on the Altar Society), Trish was also on the
Healing Rosary Prayer Group at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Trish leaves her siblings, Eileen Gueli (of Union, NJ), Delores Salino (of Hazlet, NJ),
Stephen Crowley (of Union, NJ) and Michael Crowley. She also leaves her two loving sons,
Michael Gurney and his wife Patricia Rose Gurney of Fredericksburg, VA, and John
Gurney, and his wife Amanda Gurney of Collierville, TN. In addition, Trish leaves behind
five grandchildren, Joshua, Kaelyn, Noah, Matthew and Katherine.
Visitation will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, at 2564 Hale Avenue, in
Memphis, TN, on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 6pm to 7pm, and also from 8am to
9:00am (with a Rosary beginning at 8:30am) on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Following
the Rosary, a Funeral Mass will be held (i.e. at 9:00am). Interment will be at All Saints
Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Catholic Charities of West Tennessee.
