Pamela Jean Redditt Sykes, 69, passed away on March 16, 2025, leaving a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to others.

Pamela discovered her calling in nursing in her mid-30s, embarking on a journey that would define her life's work. Her passion for helping people led her to pursue a master's degree, becoming a nurse practitioner specializing in trauma medicine. She dedicated her career to the fast-paced, high-stakes environment of the Trauma Emergency Department at the Regional Medical Center, where her skill and kindness comforted countless patients and families.

Pamela's heart extended far beyond her profession. She was fiercely tenacious and self-sacrificing, always putting others before herself. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her compassion touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her loving daughters, J. Jewel Nichols and Esther Sykes-Wood (Mitchell Wood); her cherished grandchildren, Celena, Amara (Ali), Josie, Adelina, Lilly, and Penny; and her adored great-grandchildren, Cyrus, Archie, Liam, Adrian, and Winnie.

Pamela's presence in the lives of those who knew her was a gift. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the unwavering strength she carried through every challenge.

Visitation and viewing will be Friday, March 21 at 5:00p.m. at High Point Funeral Home, 3788 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A service to honor her life will be held this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5296 Park Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.  In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Civil Liberties Union to help safeguard freedom during these challenging times.
