Obituary

Neva Jean Clark (or 'Mamoo' to many) 69, was born May 20, 1954, in Murray, Kentucky to Dorris Clark and Marilyn (Myers) Clark. She shared many fond memories growing up with her older brother Rickey Clark in Murray. In her youth, one of Neva's first jobs was at the local Kentucky Fried Chicken, where she actually met 'Colonel' Harland Sanders. Sadly, she did not get her hands on that secret chicken recipe.

Motherhood for Neva began on May 17, 1971, upon the birth of her son, Richard (Richie) in Fort Bragg, North Carolina while his father, Ronnie, was serving in Vietnam. It was there in North Carolina that she met Sister Knight who would share with her the beautiful future hope of a paradise earth that Jehovah God has in store for mankind. She soon dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on March 11, 1972.

Neva was enamored with the beautiful creations that surrounded her. She would frequently find opportunities to show her son and later her grandsons the many beautiful creations provided by Jehovah. Day trips, picnics, hikes in the woods or a ride on the golf cart at the farm to see birds, flowers, bugs, deer, horses, turtles, or whatever they could find. Then she would explain a wonderful quality of our Creator seen in that animal or plant. Neva dearly loved her grandsons, Nick, Ethan and Matthew, as well as her son Richie and daughter-in-law, Jean.

Likely unknown to many, Neva was quite the artist in her early years. She sketched faces from magazines and occasionally did self-portraits. Neva also loved poetry. She had many notebooks filled with poems written by her and poems from other writers whom she appreciated. Neva was known for writing letters of encouragement to family and friends. Life was not always easy. Therefore, she considered it as a personal assignment from Jehovah to build up and encourage everyone, including her family, spiritual brothers and sisters, and those in the ministry; always generous with her time and material possessions.

Services will be April 27th at 2:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 3893 New Brownsville Rd., Memphis, TN 38135.
