Obituary

Neal Holcomb passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on Monday, January 27, 2020 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Rosalee Holcomb of Southaven, MS. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynn Pierotti Holcomb, his sons Dan Holcomb and Joshua Holcomb of Collierville; his sister Tammy Parker of Bartlett, TN; Brothers-in-law Benny Pierotti of Memphis, TN, Paul Pierotti of Eads, TN; cousin Bobby Green of Memphis, TN; his uncle Don Edwards of Longmont, CO. Neal dearly cherished his eight grandchildren: Elijah, Rebekah, Noah, Jonah, Isabella, Gianna, Gabriel, Liliana. He loved his many wonderful nephews, nieces, cousins and his devoted godchild, Angelina Pierotti Greve of Durham, NC.

Neal graduated from Whitehaven High School in 1971. He was a veteran of U.S.A.F. He worked in the aviation industry since 1975. He was affectionately known as "Bubba" by his aviation friends. He worked as an aircraft mechanic with Flying Tigers and then at Fed Ex in aircraft maintenance for many years until his retirement. Neal was honored with numerous "Bravo Zulu" awards and certificates of excelence from his employers.

Neal was a member of the Catholic Church of the Incarnation in Collierville since 1989. He held the ranking of a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and was involved in many charitable activities, including the support of youth ministries.

Neal's hobbies included art, cooking, fishing, watching his grandchildren's sports, music, theatre and religious activities. He enjoyed having meals with friends and sharing stories with everyone he met. Neal always tried to be a good neighbor, to give his time and talent back to his community and to anyone in need. He truly loved people. We will miss his cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and Notre Dame. We will miss his easy going, good nature, his gentle voice and the laughter he brought to every one, especially at Christmas time

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to carry on Neal's charity work through the Knights of Columbus and/or the Youth Ministry at the Church of the Incarnation in Collierville.
