Obituary

Nancy Anne Prendota, née Bakjian, passed away on August 25, 2022 in Memphis, TN. She is survived by her husband Brian and her sons Edward and Robert, all living in Joliet, IL. She is also survived by her siblings: Tom (Lana) Bakjian of Helena MT, Sue Bakjian of Memphis TN, and Joanne (Dan) Hofer of Wild Rose WI and many nieces and nephews and friends. She had a special relationship with her in-laws Norma and Robert Bartelt of Hot Springs AR, Craig (Marilyn) Prendota of Chicago, William Bartelt of Kansas City, MO, and Coleen (Jeff) Wood of Saint Joseph, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents Signe Bakjian and Hodge (Dolores) Bakjian all of Glenview IL, and her brother-in-law Chuck (Carrie) Bartelt

Nancy grew up in Glenview IL and graduated from Maine Township High School North. She lived for many years in Aurora, IL and later Joliet IL. She had many jobs throughout her life. Her very favorite was being a school bus driver. She bragged about how great her Joliet West High School students were. She learned all of their names and was very upset when she was forced to retire due to her illness. She missed the students, her coworkers and the break time Euchre games.

In the past Nancy was a volunteer and President of Women of the Moose in Batavia, IL.

She was also a member and Secretary of A.B.A.T.E of Illinois Motorcycle Club and this past year dreamed of riding on a motorcycle again.

Nancy was a life-long Christian fully confident that on her passing she would be met by Jesus, her Savior and enter His glory. She was blessed over the years to worship at 3 WELS Lutheran churches: St. Matthew's, Niles, IL, Resurrection, Aurora, IL, and Gloria Dei, Memphis, TN. Even in her final days she used every opportunity to share her faith with others. Well done good and faithful servant!

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 1 pm at Mound Rest Cemetery in Cortland Township, IL (on Hwy 38 just east of South Somonauk Rd, east of DeKalb, IL). Reception will follow at: Woodgate Clubhouse, 1695 Bayberry Lane, Sycamore IL 60178
