Obituary

Beth Dearing Ellis, 56, of Memphis Tennessee, died on Christmas Eve December 24, 2022, Beth Dearing Ellis entered Heaven the way she lived her life, with great courage and dignity. Beth was surrounded by her family who loved her, cared for her, and will forever carry her in their hearts and souls. Beth was born on July 21, 1966. From that day forward she lived her life with a contagious smile, a unique sense of innocence, and a deep love for her family. Beth spent her early years in Dyersburg, TN enjoying trips to the beach, boating, and fishing with her family. She developed lifelong friendships with so many who will smile fondly when remembering their shared adventures. Beth loved fishing, gardening, and animals but not necessarily in that order. She found peace in the solitude of sitting in a boat or on the banks of a river or stream waiting for the perfect fish. Her plants are growing in the gardens of close friends and family throughout the mid south. Beth was selfless in her desire to rescue those who needed help, especially animals who were cast aside and needed her love to heal.  She had an uncanny ability to reach people and animals in a deep and positive way. Beth graduated from The University of Tennessee with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Throughout her career as an occupational therapist, she found her true calling and touched many lives with her empathy.  Her gentleness was evident in every aspect of her life and will be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Beth lived life to the fullest during her 56 years. She was always up for an adventure, a party, or a challenge, which is what she faced when told she had Multiple Myeloma in 2019.   Beth confronted cancer with a fury, continuing to live life to the fullest through stem cell treatments, chemo, and extended periods away from family and friends. She battled cancer until Christmas Eve when God called her home to envelop her in His loving arms. Although we may no longer physically see Beth, we believe she has left a indelible memory in all of us lucky enough to have known her.  Beth will continue to bring sunshine into our lives through the memories we shared. We will miss her unique sense of humor, her wild side, her love of life, and her gentleness. Beth's daughters are blessed with the legacy of a strong, resilient woman who taught others how to live when facing adversity. She will be deeply loved and treasured forever. Beth is survived by her loving husband, Chuck and his two daughters Erica Gilliand (John) and Crystal Adair (Dustin); her dearly loved daughters, Lucy and Sydney Harris;  her parents, Nate and Donna Dearing; her sister, Carrie Moring (Tommy); her brother Nate Dearing; and her nephews Will and Matt Moring. She is also survived by many special friends who were always there when she needed someone to laugh or cry with. Beth leaves behind her puppies, Roo, Cody and Piddy who were always by her side.
In lieu of flowers, it was Beth's request to donate to Little Rock UAMS Multiple Myeloma Institute, Goodness Village of Little Rock or All 4's Rescue League. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Beth's Life at Lichterman Nature Center on January 7th. Services start at 11 with lunch to follow.
