Memphis, TN – Marion Hardy McAden, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in Memphis, TN. Family and friends will gather for a graveside funeral service on Monday, March 15, 2021 beginning at noon. The service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery with a reception to follow.

Marion was born in Memphis, TN, on April 27, 1939, the daughter of the late Courtsworth Mansfield Hardy Sr. and Irene Hardy.

Along with her parents Mrs. McAden was preceded in death by her husband, John Barclay McAden Sr., and her brother Courthsworth Mansfiled "Bill" Hardy Jr. She is survived by her two grown children; John Barclay McAden Jr. (Brenda McAden) and Andrew Hardy McAden (Michael Whitmire); and two grandchildren: Lauren Michelle McAden and John Barclay McAden III.

Mrs. McAden attended Southwestern at Memphis (now known as Rhodes College) and was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority at Southwestern. She became an elementary school teacher and later a housewife to her beloved husband, children, and later grandchildren.

Mrs. McAden was an active member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Memphis, TN, where she was also a member of Barth Sanders Gild and the Women's ministry for over 50 years.

Marion was a loving mother, Grammy, and friend to all. She will be greatly missed, but we know that she is in the arms of Jesus.
