Luther Barton Smalley, 87, of Memphis, Tennessee, better known as Barton, passed away peacefully in the presence of his son and daughter on October 31, 2025. Born on November 25, 1937. He was the son of Luther and Effie Smalley, born and raised in Middleton, TN. Barton proudly served in the United States Navy and lived a life grounded in love, strength, and devotion to his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his children, Ronna Thomas and Jerry Smalley. He is survived by his children, Reta Dickerson and Denny Ishee, along with 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy.

Barton's later years were brightened by his friendship and care of his dear friends Jeff and Jeffrey Aldrich.

He will be remembered with deep love and gratitude by all who knew him.
