Josephine "JoAnn" Medley Burleson left her earthly body on October 9, 2020 to be with our Savior and Lord. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Ascension, 3680 Ramill Road, Memhis, TN  38128 at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, and will be livestreamed for all those that cannot travel because of the pandemic at https://www.ascensionmemphis.org/livestream/ .

Interment will be immediately after the burial mass at Concord Cemetery, 3715 Concord Road, Gates, Tennessee.

JoAnn was born in Rosedale, Mississippi on January 25, 1938, to Homer Elbert Medley and Josephine Costanzi Medley. She graduated from Rosedale High School in 1955 after being named Most Athletic and then attended Delta State University before moving to Memphis, Tennessee where she met the love of her life, Marvin Burleson. They were married in Rosedale, Mississippi at Sacred Heart Church surrounded by family and friends as they were for their entire life as Marvin and JoAnn attended every family wedding, reunion, or occasion, as they were both from big generational families.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Josephine "Josie" Medley, and her brother, Homer "Joe" Medley.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Marvin, of over 60 years, her daughter Lisa (Wayne) Martin of Roswell, Georgia, her son, Brad (Laura) Burleson of Denham Springs, Louisiana, her grand-daughters Lauren (Heather) Hodges of Augusta, Georgia, Kim Martin of Sandy Springs, and grandson, Peyton Burleson also of Denham Springs, Louisianna.
