Joseph Frederick Buehler, age 102 passed away peacefully on July 17,2021 at Schilling Gardens Assisted Living. A Lt. Colonel with the United States Air Force, he served in World War II as a Navigator with the 398 ^th Bombardment Group, flying 31 missions over Germany. He was called back during the Korean War. Joe led an amazing life. He and his late wife, Marijane loved entertaining, dancing and fishing. His absolute favorite holiday was Christmas. He would spend weeks decorating the yard of any house he lived in with great joy and anticipation! A self-taught engineer, he loved studying the Universe. So it is no surprise that he became involved in the design of Cape Canaveral and later in designing test site facilities at NASA in Huntsville, AL. His name is on the Voyager satellite.  Joe always wondered if we were alone in the Universe. Now he knows!

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Schilling Gardens, who made him feel as special as he was every day, especially Kirk Pafford and Beth Spinks. He loved you both very much.

Interment will be at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on August 9, 2021 at 9:00 AM.
