John Dalas Vance, Jr. 56, born in Louisville, KY, died Wednesday, June 7, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Skidmore Vance; his son, Leland Dalas Vance and his fiance, Kelsi Palmer; his daughter, Lauren Rebekah Vance, all of Bartlett, TN; his parents John Dalas Vance, Sr. and Katie Eddins Vance of Zebulon, North Carolina; one sister, Kathe Vance and her husband, Colin Farnsworth of West Palm Beach, Florida, one sister-in-law, Margie Skidmore Jesse of Dortches, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Robert L. Skidmore and his wife, Beth Lawrence Skidmore of Huntsville, Alabama plus nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dr. Vance graduated form Jacksonville State University and University of Alabama. He taught music in Alabama and Tennessee for over 30 years. He leaves a legacy of students who not only learned about music but learned about living and loving life. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to your favorite charity.
