J.M. Kirkland, 85, longtime resident of Memphis, TN, was born in Germantown, TN on December 12, 1937 to Jessie and Donnie Smith Kirkland. He passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023. Mr. Kirkland served in the Army National Guard and retired employee from the Illinois Central Railroad. He also was a longtime member of Raleigh 7th Day Adventist Church. Mr. Kirkland was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy S. Kirkland; son, David M. Kirkland; daughter, Amy J. Smith and parents, Jessie and Donnie Kirkland. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Ray) Sweet; son, Joe (Kelly) Kirkland; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Interment will be Private.
