Isadore "June" McGhee, Jr. was born June 29, 1940 to the late Isadore, Sr. and Ollie McGhee in Rossville, TN. He confessed a belief in Christ at an early age. He grew up in Memphis and retired from self-employment as a commercial and residential carpet layer for many years, He was a member of Trinity Prayer and Faith Ministries where he served faithfully until his health failed.

Isadore united in marriage to the late Ellen Mullins. Their marriage was blessed with two children. Additionally, God blessed his life with four daughters and five sons, 22 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.

June, as he was lovingly known, began singing with gospel quartets as a young man. He travelled across the country and abroad singing with quartets including the Bogard Brothers and the Fantastic Sounds. He was an engaging showman who loved to uplift people through songs.

June had an infectious laugh that captured the attention of anyone that heard it. June was happiest when he was spreading love, peace and joy to others. He was very stylish in his dress and always wore the best colognes. Isadore McGhee, Jr. transitioned from this life on March 23, 2022. He was proceeded in death by his wife Ellen, two sons, Gregory and Larry Williams, two brothers, John (Bubba) and Charles McGhee as well as a grandson, Courtney Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory 4 sons, 5 daughters, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters: Patrick (Diane) McGhee of Powder Springs, Georgia, Eddie (Norma) Williams, Zacharias McGhee, LaMonte McGhee, Veronica McGhee, Carolyn Sue Mullins, Latonya (Tony) Berryhill, Anita Mabone-McGhee, and Tandra McGhee, all of Memphis, TN; Macy Davis of Fredericksburg, VA, Letha (Roy) Neal, Carol (Lemuel) Russell Tennessee; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at High Point Funeral Home 3788 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. Visitation will be held Thursday March 31, 2022 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral service will be held Friday April 1, 2022 at 12:00 pm with burial to follow at New Park Cemetery.
