Helen Naomi Samuels, a longtime resident of Memphis, TN,died Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Quince Nursing Home.She was born on June 25, 1929, in Decaturville,TN to Willie Mae and Auvie Edward Fisher. Helen lived most of her childhood in Decatur County, TN and later moved to Memphis, TN, where she met and married her beloved husband of 42 years, William Bryan Samuels, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1988. She worked several years as an order clerk for Sears Crosstown and later became an office manager for Underwood Sales. Her pastimes included gardening, traveling, square-dancing, and spending time with family. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church. Helen is survived by her son, William Larry (Delba) Samuels of Bartlett, TN, and her daughter, Marsha Lynn George of Memphis, TN. She leaves grandchildren, Jennifer George of Arlington, VA, Robin (Jeremy) Barrier of Florence, AL, Christina (Jacob) Duke of Texarkana, TX and William George, Jr., of Memphis, TN: great grandchildren, Samuel and Sophia Barrier, and Wyatt, Levi and Margaret Duke. Services will be held at 11 a.m.on Friday, Dec 6 at High Point Funeral Home Chapel, 3788 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN., withDr Jeremy Barrier. officiating. Burial will be a Forest Hill Cemetery South.
