Hazel H
Sistare
Mar 30, 1927 — Oct 3, 2023
Bartlett
Hazel Hopper Sistare passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Born March 30, 1927, she was the middle child of Guy M. and Vera (Curle) Hopper. Raised in Tiplersville, Mississippi, she learned early in life to rise early, work hard, say her prayers, and praise God for all the blessings of which she had many. For over 50 years, she shared deep, abiding love and affection with her beloved husband, Joe, who stuck by her side through all the world could throw at them. She was most proud of her daughter, Celia (Scott) Hares, who was a great joy and comfort to her throughout her life.
In addition to Joe and Celia, she is survived by her sister June Hopper; son-in-law Leland Hares; granddaughters Rita Hall (Matt) and Donna Williamson (Marvin); great-grandchildren Victoria Thornton Smith (Jamie), Chris Knox, Melanie Hall, Nick Thornton (Carrlie), and Mya Williamson; great-great-granddaughters Charlottee Rickman and Alice Victoria Thornton; and nieces Sonia Wright Thomas and Diana Wilson. She is now reunited in Heaven with her parents, brother Nathan Hopper, and sisters Vernell and Jane Hopper.
It is the family's wish that all who knew her carry forward with them into the world the same spirit of love, service to others, and enduring delight in all of God's creation that exemplified her light in the world. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Crossroads Hospice and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
