Gwendolyn Yvonne Sears passed away on February 28th, 2024. She was
96 and known as the "Yellow Rose of Texas" and the "Texas Tornado"!
Born in Dunn, Texas to parents Herman "Doyle" and "Addie Mae", she
lived her formative years in Beaumont, Texas with her sister Vivian and
brother Herman.

Upon graduating high school, she attended nursing school in Lubbock
taking classes at Texas Tech University where she met her
future/life/love husband, Earl Wayne Sears of Brownfield, Texas. They
were married in 1949 and lived in Texas, Kansas and Tennessee (over
the course of their lives) having 4 children; Cathy, Robert, David and
Kristie. They were active in church while living in Dallas, Newton and
Memphis building strong, extended family bonds and new churches.
After settling in Memphis, both Gwen and Earl were actively involved at
Second Baptist Church on Walnut Grove Road. Her love of family,
friends, church and life has always shown through with everyone who
met and knew her. Ever caring and loving, she kept everyone in her
heart living a full, beautiful life!

Gwen is predeceased by her husband, parents and siblings.
She is lovingly survived by her four children; Cathy, Robert, David and
Kristie. Her Grandchildren are Kelly, Morgan, Katrina, Andrew,
Katherine, Molly, and Matthew. Greatgrandchildren are Kaylie, Skylar,
Scarlett and Reagan-Ann.

Visitation and will take place in Brownfield, Texas on Saturday, March 2nd from 11am-12 noon, with burial services following.
