Gordon A. Lohnes, Jr. (91) of Memphis, TN passed away Monday, January 22, 2024. Born September 11, 1932, in Memphis, TN, he was the son of Gordon A. Lohnes, Sr. and Mamie Townsend Lohnes, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his cousin, Janet Ferguson.

A lifelong learner, he graduated from Central High School (1950), then received degrees from LaSalle Extension University (1951), State Technical Institute (1971), and University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business and Economics (1987) where he graduated summa cum laude.

An avid ballroom dancer, he won several Arthur Murray competitions. He was an active member, volunteer, and supporter of the Lucille McWherter Senior Center.

A Visitation will be held at 11:30 AM on February 8th , 2024 at the Church of the Holy Communion, 4645 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis, TN 38117, followed by a Service in the church at 12:30 PM, with Interment to immediately follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38120.

As a lifelong member of the Church of the Holy Communion, Gordon requested that any memorials to be made to the Church of the Holy
Communion in lieu of flowers.
