Mrs. McCarthy did not finish high school and never learned to drive. After becoming a widow in 1965, Mrs. McCarthy went to work as a CNA. She worked in this field for 50 years at the same location. The facility changed hands many times but Mrs. McCarthy remained as a dedicated and loyal employee. She retired at the age of 80. She loved caring for her patients and making sure their needs were met. Many family members would come back to visit her and thank her for taking care of their loved one member. She worked hard to provide for her own family during these years.

Her favorite sayings were "I'm not going to worry about it." And "I'm alright".

She enjoyed westerns, morning coffee and playing cards. She enjoyed Word Searches and Puzzles. If you wanted to know someone's birthdate, she was the one to ask. She enjoyed going out to eat and somehow always took more home with her than she ate. These times will be missed.
