Florence Jacobs Downing, 90, of Memphis, TN, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. A member of First Assembly of God Church in Memphis for over 80 years, Florence lived a life devoted to Christ, her family, and serving others.

She is survived by her children: Bobby Downing and his wife, Terri; Philip Downing and his wife, Hope; and Phyllis McKenzie and her husband, Don; along with 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by all her immediate family, including her children, David Downing and Donna Fox.

Florence was actively involved in serving at First Assembly, where her passion was working with young girls in Pioneer Girls, a ministry she loved and dedicated herself to for many years. She never stopped wanting to learn more about the Bible, continually seeking to deepen her understanding of God's Word.

One of her favorite passages, John 11:25-26, states:
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" Florence believed this with all her heart.
