Edward Armand
Lacrouts
Jun 16, 1945 — Dec 20, 2022
Cordova
Edward Armand Lacrouts was born in New Orleans, LA, June 16, 1945, to Armand Honora Lacrouts and Gertrude Herman Lacrouts. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynda West Lacrouts, two daughters and "sons", LeeAnn Givan (Jay), Christine Rosengarten (Nathan), and five grandchildren, 7 to 18.
Teen years saw jobs in the drugstore of Jimmy Brothers and that of Bobby Cousins, who became dear, life-long friends. After graduating from De La Salle High School and LSU, Ed was hired by the DePont Co. and sent to Richmond, VA. Lynda was working there. They were married four years later in March, 1973.
Baseball, golf, LSU football, and then hunting were all part of his life. Baseball was played on Sundays, with former AAA players and family. Golf was with Jimmy, Bobby, Ralph Stotesberry, Jay Raulston, Eddie Durham, Jim Hunnicutt, and more. A big highlight was being at Augusta National in 1986 with Eddie, Jimmy, and Bobby when Jack Nicklaus shot a 65 and won his 6th green jacket.
Always willing to help anyone who needed it, he asked for nothing in return, gladly supporting many charities, the biggest being Great Creek Hunt Club (Alberta, VA). Even when moving, he rarely missed fall deer season. The week after Thanksgiving was his last trip. It was extra special because he was there for hunting with wounded warriors. On family beach trips, Ed barely tolerated the sand. However, with feet in sand, he taught all five "grands" to fly kites. RVing was the newest passion. From western states to Myrtle Beach; NOLA to the VA mountains. Of them all, the western US held his awe. However, the two most significant events of his life were escorting each daughter in their beautiful wedding gowns...and he truly thought of their husbands as sons.
Our vision now is Ed, with Jimmy, Ralph, Jay, Eddie, and Jim playing a few holes, recounting endless stories of times spent together.
GEAU TIGER.
Rest in Peace.
