Denise Renee (Bailey) New age 59 passed away at her home in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, May 26, 2018 after her battle with cancer. She was born on March 1, 1959 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Ernest Ray and Darlene Marie (Kinney) Bailey. Denise married the late James Edward New and they resided in Jackson, Tennessee most of their life. She graduated Tennessee Technology Center at McKellar Field in 1988 and worked as a LPN for 19 years. She was a true nurse as she cared for many people as a nurse and outside her work life. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Denise leaves behind her three daughters Rachel Sturdivant (Stephen) of Memphis, Tennessee, Sara Holland (Christopher) of Medon, Tennessee, and Amie Autrey (Mark) of Huntingdon, Tennessee, and son Jefferey Kenner of Jackson, TN. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Denise was preceded in death by her husband, James New, four siblings, Donna (Bailey) Anderson, Dawn (Bailey) Kemp, Paul and Michael Bailey, and her parents Ernest and Darlene (Kinney) Bailey. Denise will be interred with her husband James at the Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Graveside ceremony will be Sunday, June 10th at 3:30 p.m. at the Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery for burial with a memorial supper immediately after at the Deanburg Community Center.This will be a potluck, so everyone please bring a dish.BBQ & fried chicken will be provided.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Wings at the West Cancer Clinic.
