Boyd Samuel Taylor bowed on his knees and cried Holy to the Lord as the gates of Heaven opened and God welcomed His faithful child Home January 21, 2018. He left his much loved family and friends after a long illness. He was a member of Brayborn Baptist Church and a former member of Southland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He also ministered to adults and children thru sport activities "Coach". He retired from the Illinois Central RR after 40 years. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was a avid fisherman and member of Chickasaw Anglers for 20 years. He is a beloved son, husband, daddy, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Nannie Taylor, his wife of 59 years Evelyn Taylor, a son Donny Taylor, three sisters Evelyn Lowe, Francis Hampton and Judy Graves and brother Allen Taylor. He is survived by his daughter Susan Taylor Jones, sister Katherine Stewart, granddaughters Ashley Borden (Kyle) and Christy Crawford (Ken) and five great grandchildren Makayla, Chyles, Rhyan, Jagger and Karson. Visitation will be 10-12 January 25 with funeral at 12 at Desoto Hills Baptist Church, 4680 Getwell Rd., Southaven, MS, 38672. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery.
