Bonita (Bonny) Moore Dacus was born 94 years ago in Judsonia (Providence), White County, Arkansas. She moved to Memphis, Tennessee in the mid-1940s. In the early 1990s she moved to Horn Lake, Desoto County, Mississippi and resided here until she went home to meet Jesus on March 12, 2020. Her husband, James H. (Jimmy) Dacus, Jr., preceded her in death in 1988.
She is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Bonny leaves behind three children, Kaye Dacus Ray (Gary G.Ray), Bobbie Jo Johnston, and James Phillip Dacus, all of Desoto County, Mississippi. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Robert Colvin (Pam Colvin), Kim Thornton (Evan Thornton), Charlotte Drake (Chris Drake), and Jason Ray, all of Desoto County, Mississippi. Bonny has eight great grandchildren: Reagan Colvin; Jaxon, Ella, Maddy, Emily, and Molly Thornton; and Cannon and Caleb Drake. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Bonny loved to sew, quilt, cook, go to church, and read her Bible. She also enjoyed family gatherings at her home and going to family reunions. Bonny lived the life of a true Christian woman. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Visitation will be 10 a.m., Wednesday March 18 until service begins at 11 a.m. at Church of the Harvest, 14707 MS-302, Olive Branch, Mississippi, 38654. Interment will follow in Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Bartlett, TN.
