Betty Gene Blackburn (nee Striplin) 92 of Memphis passed in her home on September 16, 2022. She was born in Brickeys, Arkansas on August 30, 1930.

She is survived by her two sons, George D Blackburn of Memphis, and Donald E Blackburn of Williston plus a sister Dorothy Striplin McDole of St Peters, MO, and a sister in law Lola Striplin of Clarksdale, MS. She also leaves behind three grandsons, Donald, Joseph, Robert Blackburn, and a very big family of nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents James Allen Striplin and Ernestine Swindoll (nee Rowland), her husband George Calvin Blackburn after 43 years of marriage, her siblings William Striplin, James (Jack) Striplin, Henry Striplin, Chester Striplin, Bobby Striplin and George Striplin, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Betty was a special lady that worked very hard at farming, catering, baking and a dedicated mother and housewife. She will be missed. Betty was an active member of Grace Community Church of Memphis and was at peace with her Lord and Savior in the end.

On Monday, September 26, visitation will be at noon and services will follow lead by Pastor Ben Wilkins at Grace Community Church on Bartlett Road and burial at Memphis Memory Gardens on Raleigh LaGrange Road. Arrangements are being handled by High Point Funeral Home on Summer Ave.
