Obituary

Audrey Mae Taylor Register, 88, passed away and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 25, 2019. Those waiting for her in heaven are: husband, James Neron D. Register; parents, Hurley and Gertrude Taylor; sisters, Rubye Creech and Peggy Hubble. She is survived by her children, Judy R Stinson (Thomas), Carole Register, Taylor Register (Nancy), Byron Register; grandchildren, Challey, Brant, Jarrod, Keegan; great grandchildren, Keres, Landon and Chaycen. Audrey was born April 15, 1931 in the Sheeptown, VA area of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She graduated from Lee College (Cleveland, TN) where she met her lifelong sweetheart. After college Audrey taught business administration classes and was among the first group of computer programmers at Warner Robbins Air Force Base (GA). She was the office behind her husband's businesses and the CFO of our family. She was smart and funny. She would throw firecrackers in the fireplace when we weren't looking, making everyone jump. She was loving. Hugs never needed a reason in our home. We are all blessed to have had this wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother and friend in our lives.
It may sound greedy to want more days with a person who lived so long, but the fact that our mother was 88 does not diminish, it only magnifies the enormity of the room whose doors have quietly shut. We miss her greatly.
A family celebration memorial of her life is planned in her beloved mountains.
