Anna Elizabeth Moore Corey passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in Memphis, TN at the age of 79. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who devoted herself to her family. Anna was born on July 30, 1942 in Dunbar, WV to John and Ruth Moore. The family resided in Dunbar until her father received a job transfer to Holland. The family traveled for several years until their return for Anna to complete her high school education at Central High School in Memphis, TN. Anna graduated from University of Tennessee Knoxville with a teaching degree and Biology minor. She became a Laboratory Technician at University of Tennessee Memphis retiring after working over thirty years. She continued her career working in the same position for Dr. Kutteh in his Fertility of Memphis Clinic. There she found her 2nd family. During the course of her dedicated working career, she married James Lee Corey in 1975. Anna was preceded in death by her parents John and Ruth Moore; her husband James Corey; her brother John W. Moore, Jr. Anna is survived by her children Leeann Corey (Fred Lewis III) of Memphis, TN; her sister-in-law, Beverly Moore of Martinsburg, WV; and her brother David Moore (Sandy) of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by 1 grandchild: Kailyn Matthews of Memphis, TN. Her 2 great grandchildren she leaves are: Khavari and Kaius Matthews of Memphis, TN. Anna's funeral is scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2022 at High Point Funeral Home at 3788 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. Visitation will commence from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Anna Elizabeth Moore Corey's life.
